THE PAST

The roots of Canada West Weekend go back 30 years to a small ski village called Whistler.  The Whistler Weekend was a CWR staple until 2005, and in 2006 we took a break because of the proximity of PCA Parade 2006 in Portland.

With all of the construction and lead up to the Olympics in 2010; it was decided to take our premier event ‘on the road’ and try out new venues and adventures.  2007 saw the launch of Canada West Weekend in Sun Peaks near Kamloops and the event remained there for four years, culminating in Escape 2010; the first Escape to be held North of the 49th.  The village and people of Sun Peaks were wonderful to us and it is a beautiful location, but the mandate of Canada West Weekend was “Whistler on the Road”, so we’ve packed up the tent and are heading to Osoyoos in the heart of wine country.

THE PRESENT

The home of Canada West Weekend 2012 will once again be at the fabulous Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort and Spa, over the week of September  7th to the 9th.

The weekend promises to be a combination of fun and relaxation; golf, driving tours, Porsche show & shine, guided wine tours, wine tastings and banquets.

Spirit Ridge is located in Osoyoos, British Columbia, an area known as “Napa of the North” is surrounded by dramatic sun-drenched landscapes, miles of vineyards and views to Lake Osoyoos’ warm, blue waters, Spirit Ridge’s vacation suites are within reach of desert golf, luxurious spa experiences, convention centre and unique cultural opportunities at the cultural centre.

The 4.5 star accommodations embraces you with exacting details from nine-foot ceilings to gourmet kitchens, opulent bedrooms with room enough for all of you, plus spacious balconies and patios. The resort can cater to variety of desires. Sonora Desert Spa, Sonora Dunes Golf Course,  NK’MIP Cellars winery and Passatempo Restaurant.

Porsche Club members will be privileged to special room rates for this event. We are still in the planning stage, event details and registration information will be available in spring of 2012.
