I checked with the Porsche Centre Langley today and received confirmation that their next Coffee & Cars will be held Sunday August 9th from 9 to 11AM.

This information will be officially posted on the PCL's Facebook page momentarily.

This is a day after the Coffee & Cars held at Spanish Banks of Jerico Beach.

See you at one of them!

Despite the threat of rain, I went to the Coffee & Cars event today at Porsche Centre Langley anyway. There was a small turn out at the event because (so I was told) it was raining in Richmond and Coquitlam.
About the most rare/special non Porsche in attendance was a white Alfa Romeo Giulia SS. The owner claimed it had won its class in the 24 hours of Sebring. I cannot remember what year it won.
When I thanked him for bringing his Alfa, the owner admitted that he usually brings his 911, but asked (permission?) if he could bring something else. Mainly he wanted to show the Alfa because it had not been driven in two years.
I thought he'd have a heart attack when someone spilled coffee on it! I didn't see it happen myself so I can't comment on the stupidity of the offender. Thankfully no lasting damage was done to the paint. (German coffee would have burnt right through the bodywork!)
He told me that he owns five other Alfas and some British cars too! His wife says since he's getting out of vintage racing its time to "downsize." I would love to have this problem!
Incidentally the "Make a Wish" foundation was not there serving pancakes. Instead two pretty ladies were serving coffee and high quality bakery items. I thanked them for hosting the event and they responded "Oh we're just here to serve coffee and cakes." I told them to thank their employers then.
I have no idea if this is the last Coffee & Cars to be hosted at Porsche Centre Langley this year or ever, but I'm very grateful to them for hosting it over the summer months.
There was always a great turnout of truly unique cars at the Coffee & Cars at the Porsche Centre Langley. Who can forget the 918 parked next to the Carrera GT? Or the "Rauh Welt" 911s with the special guest appearance of their Japanese creator?
May this event continue next year as well!
