Anyone know if any of the 993 variants would qualify for Collector car, not the 25 year but the 15 year rare?

  • A limited production vehicle

  • 15 years or older, and
  • 1 of no more than 1,500 of that make and model (not edition) produced worldwide by the manufacturer for that model year.

So sadly I read this as less then 1,500 of any kind of 993. However if a model was an RS (1,014 total run) would that count?

Would love to get my '97 C2S on collector place lol..

993 is the series, C2S should count as the model.  Therefore if under 1500 for the 1997 C2S, you're good to go.   …………  Check a copy of the Redbook for production numbers ……….. or probably online somewhere.

This is good to hear I would like to apply for my 1998 C2S . My understanding looking the internet is that only 993 were imported to North America in 1998 and the ROW received the launch of the 996. When I contacted Porsche Canada their response was the information was not available. Does anyone know of any published documentation confirming 993 1998 were produced world wide. Thank youCool

I used the Haggerty Valuation tool which showed the number produced for my car, less than 500 that i sent in with my application. This link shows over 4K for yours but I may not have picked the correct model

https://www.hagerty.ca/apps/valuationtools/1998-Porsche-911-Carrera_S

You can also search other porsche forums you might find a more positive result

Wikipedia and other sources reference the total world wide production numbers for the C2S 993 as 3714 for 1997/98 of those 1752 were made for North America for the entire 993 series run. The C2S was only manufactured for the 1997 model year, together with a very brief  stub period later in 1997 denominated as 1998 models. References state that number was 993 for North America with no reference for the ROW. There appears to be no published references anywhere that any 1998 C2S were produced for other than North America. My understanding is that the ROW received the first production of the 996 in 1998. Im going with that hopefully ICBC will concur. Cool

my guess is that ICBC will go with what ever documentation you provide as there is no doubt few were made and even Porsche doesn't know for sure.

cheers

I'd still be curious how many 993 C2S's were build for the Canadian market only? Cool
