Hi All, being a new member, I was wondering if radar detectors is legal? Secondly, would you guys recommend one for me? I see Valentine one on car mags……is that a good one? Thanks, Brendan.

Hi Brendan, welcome to CWR..I have the Valentine 1 and it has saved me on several occasions..
As far as I know, radar detectors are legal in BC and Washingto state.

Radar detectors are legal in BC. Radar jammers not.
Valentine and the higher end Passport seem to be the two brands used mostly here.
Suggest you talk to James at Scan about choice of detector (he supplies quite the high end solution for Porsche's)

The passport detector has a built in GPS. If you drive the same route often you can simply block out any non threat signals that set off your alarm. Once this is done you get fewer false signals.
The unit will display your speed as well, although we do have speedometers to do this.
We've been very satisfied with our Passport.
