Two weeks ago, I bought a set of 23 pcs aluminium wheel lug nuts from ebay.

After received,I installed them on my rims. They look good for the first week  but not any more, rust everywhere it's getting my rims dirty.

Never,Never buy ebay aluminium wheel lug nuts!!!

Do you think steel wheel lug nuts are better ? If so,any recommend ?

Thank you

I also had a unhappy shopping expereience on ebay before.

So I have cancelled my account and prefer to buy from online stores directly or Amazon.

As for me,I am considering to buy red spike lug nuts from hex auto then install on my wheels.

This store is recommanded by my friend,he told me the price of hexautoparts.com is cheaper than it's Amazon store but same high quality.

I see they are on sale now.

Aluminium or Steel? it all depends how you intend to use your Porsche. Most tracks or D.E. instructional days require that you use steel lug nuts. Old aluminum lug nuts have been know to sheer off after many years of heat cycling.  If you have the original Fuchs on your car, then be careful on buying the proper lug nuts with a ball seat (of the correct radius) otherwise the lug nuts will not seat properly on the wheel surface and may damage the wheel. Aluminium Alloy lugs are fine for the street, Porsche equips their cars with them but I'd stay away from buying lug nuts on E-Bay. Try Pelican Parts, Rennline or your local Porsche Shop.

Rust when using aluminum lug nuts doesn't sound right.  Aluminum lug nuts when used with alloy wheels should not cause rust as aluminum does not have iron in the metal and thus cannot "rust".  Aluminum nuts on steel lugs do, however, need to have a anti seize applied in order for the two metals not to react with one another.

update:

I got them from Hex auto parts. https://www.hexautoparts.com/24pcs-m…mc-sierra.html

It's about 2 months.

Guess what ? These cheap spike lug nuts are still cool looking and no rust.

Except one lug nut was missing when my car get on the road.

Maybe I forgot to tighten it then contacted this seller, they helped us solve the problem as soon as they could. 5 star service.

Now my rims looks cool again and perfect.

I am very happy!!!
