Best Tire Sealant options?

As we enter the Fall/Winter season my thoughts turned to how to deal with a puncture, should I be unlucky enough to have one.

Since I'm a newbie to the wonderful world of Porsche, I did some checking and discovered that the 2006 Boxster's solution to a flat is a bottle of sealant and an air compressor.

Having located the tool box on the Boxster, and I shamefully admit I've been running around oblivious since the start of July 2018, I've discovered that I have the compressor – check! But I am sans a bottle of sealant.

What recommendations can the forum give me on what are the best sealant options? I'm sure a bottle of 'gloop' at the dealership will be the least cost effective option, but I don't want to go cheap and get something that is useless.

Recommendations please. Thanks and happy motoring!

Jim.

When I had my 2016 Cayman GTS I noticed that the container of goop was VW-branded.  I guess it's an example of some of the part sharing going on across brands and platforms at VW Group.  So… my guess is that a VW parts department would stock it at about half the price the Porsche dealer would want.  Worth a try.

I know the wiper blade inserts for my 2008 Boxster are available at the VW parts counter for about a third of what they list for at the Porsche dealer.  Same part.  And the Audi dealer charges about half way between the two.
